在 KubeSphere 中监控集群外部 Etcd
1. 本文简介
本文源于 KubeSphere 开源社区 8 群里的一个小伙伴 @Jam 提到的 Ectd 监控没有数据,希望我帮忙看一下。本来我也是没有启用 Etcd 监控的,但是既然小伙伴如此信任我提了要求了,那必须安排。所以才有了本文。
经研究发现,KubeSphere 自带的集群状态监控中有 Etcd 监控的页面展示,但是在 KubeSphere 3.2.1 版本中,默认配置开启 Etcd 监控后,集群状态中的 Etcd 监控页面确实没有任何数据。本文将记录里解决该问题的排障之旅。

2. KubeSphere CRD 开启 Etcd 监控

编辑 CRD 中的 ks-installer 的 YAML 配置文件。
在 YAML 文件中,搜索 Etcd,并将 monitoring 的 false 改为 true。

所有配置完成后,点击右下角的确定,保存配置。

在 Kubectl 中执行以下命令检查安装过程。
kubectl logs -n kubesphere-system $(kubectl get pod -n kubesphere-system -l app=ks-install -o jsonpath='{.items[0].metadata.name}') -f
结果不做展示。

验证安装结果。
登录控制台,平台管理->集群管理->监控告警->集群状态,检查 etcd 监控标签页是否存在,如果存在,表明监控开启成功。

虽然前面配置开启了,但是此时监控数据并不存在。同时,检查 prometheus-k8s 的 Pod 会发现如下报错。

接下来我们会讲解原因和配置方法。
3. 问题解决过程记录

查找官方论坛,关键词使用 Etcd 找到了以下一篇看着比较接近的文档,打开来看看。
但是文档里并没有详细的问题解决过程,看的我是一头雾水,但是获得了很重要的配置步骤。

根据上面 get 到的关键点 1,用外部 Etcd 的证书生成 secret。
这条命令就是为了根据 Etcd 的 cert 生成一个 secret 配置。

先不急,先看看 secret 是否存在,如果不存在再根据命令生成。

居然发现了 kube-etcd-client-certs。
再看看具体内容 , 发现该有的都有,一个不少。

看到这说明 secrets 暂时看着没问题,最起码资源配置存在,我们先继续往后排查,不行的话再回来。
在写文档的过程中,Jam 反馈他的环境并没有这个 secrets 资源配置。可以按照上面的命令生成一个 secrets,注意检查 Etcd 密钥的实际路径。

根据上面 get 到的关键点 2,**用外部 Etcd 各节点的 ip 生成 endpoint **。
先看看 prometheus-endpointsEtcd.yaml 文件是个啥。

居然没有跟 Etcd 相关的 Endpoints,需要新建?
正要根据配置文件重新创建的时候,突然发现了自己的错误,惯性思维,被上面的命令带偏了,用错了命令空间,配置文件实例的命令空间是 kube-system。
再次在 kube-system 中查询,查询到了我们要的资源配置。

配置文件看着也正确,那我们继续往下查。

查到现在我发现自己能查的都查了,该有的配置都有,那为啥还有问题呢,参考文档中也没有更详细的说明了。

这时我发现我忘记了一点,还有没看过 Pod 的日志,赶紧去看看。
在集群管理->应用负载->工作负载->有状态副本集, 选择 kubesphere-monitoring-system 项目,找到 prometheus-k8s。
点击 prometheus-k8s,进入详细页面,点击容器组中的 prometheus-k8s-0 容器。
点击按钮容器日志,弹出容器日志页面。
这时会发现有大量的报错日志。

看到这我们发现了问题的原因,找不到文件 /etc/prometheus/secrets/kube-etcd-client-certs/etcd-client-ca.crt。
打开 Pod 的终端,进入系统里验证。
结果显示,整个文件夹都不存在。
再去看一眼 Pod 的配置,是否有 secrets 的配置。
看到这,实锤了,我认为我发现了问题的根本,也想到了问题的解决办法,那就是 Pod 中没有挂载 kube-etcd-client-certs 这个 secrets,那我们想办法挂载上,问题就能解决了???
在控制台中,找到我们的有状态副本集 prometheus-k8s,点击更多操作->编辑设置。
在存储卷中,挂载配置字典或保密字典。
选择保密字典,只读挂载 kube-etcd-client-certs 到 /etc/prometheus/secrets/kube-etcd-client-certs,最终确定。
点击确定后,你会发现 Pod 开始重建,我以为这就可以了等着看效果就完了,结果。。。
待 Pod 重建成功后,我以为一切都被我掌控了,肯定没有问题了。结果我发现,改过的配置又变回了原来的样子,Pod 中根本没有挂载我们想要的 secrets,配置跟原来一样。
反复操作三次后,我崩溃了,幡然醒悟,我改的方法不对,这个是由 prometheus-operator,单独修改不会配置不会生效的。

细节我也不知道,但是我们的目的是为了挂载 secrets,既然这里提到了,那我们就去试试。

文件内容类似上面的,我们搜索 secret,出现报错 E486: Pattern not found: secret。
说明默认配置里没有 secret 的配置,我们自己添加 , 在文件 78 行左右加入。
